In the first record in 1787 Isaac gives Power of Attorney to to Thomas Price to sell his property
in Botetourt Co. to William Royall consisting of two tracts of land of 210 acres and 395 acres.
Act in my Power and Stead in as Full and ample a Manner as I myself might or could do when I Personally
Present ratifying and confirming whatsoever my Said Attorney Thomas Price shall or will lawfully do
concerning the promises. Witness my Hand this eight day of May 1787.
This Indenture made on the Day of December in the year of Our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and
Eighty Nine between Thomas Price and Elizabeth Price of the one part and Will'm Royall of the Other part
both being of Botetourt County and State of Virginia. Witnesseth that Said Thomas Price and Elizabeth
Price in Consideration of The sum of one Hundred and thirty pounds in Hand paid to him hath given
Granted Bargained & Sold to the Said Wm. Royall Two Certain Tracts or parcels of land both Containing
three hundred and ninety five acres Lying & being in the County of Botetourt on Barbers Creek a branch
of Craig's the Waters of Jameses River Each Bounded as followeth to wit: Begining at the fore white Oak
Saplins on the south side of Barber's Creek and runing thence crossing said Creek North Twenty degrees
East two hundred and sixty poles to two white oak and two Black Oak Saplins by a Madow North East one
hundred and twenty poles to a Black Oak North forty degrees West Ninety two poles Crossing the said Creek
to fore White Oak Saplins South West Thirty two poles to two White Oaks by a Branch South Thirty one Degrees
West Three Hundred and five poles crossing the Branch South one hundred and thirty-six poles to the Begining
of the Other of One hundred and Eighty five Acres Bounded as followeth to Wit Begining at a White Oak
on the South Side of the Creek Corner to the lands he lived on and with the same South Eighty degrees
West Sixty Eight poles Crossing the Creek to fore White Oaks North Seventy Degrees West one hundred and
sixty poles leaving Said line to a spanish Oak 2 Black oak in a draft south forty two poles to two White
Oak Grubs South forty six Degrees East one hundred and twenty two poles to two pines South fifteen degrees
West one hundred poles to two pines South sixty degrees West Sixty poles to two white Oaks South
Sixteen poles Crossing a Branch to two White Oak saplins South seventy Eight Degrees East one hundred and six
poles to a pine & Black Oak in the Creek thence Crossing the Creek along the fork of the pine Hill Two
hundred Sixty Seven poles to the Begining with all their appurtenances to have and to hold the said tracts
of lands with their al appurtenances to the said Will'm Royall and his (P. 147) heirs and the said Thomas
Price and Elizabeth for himself his heirs Executors admr's Doth Covenant with the said Will'm Royall
and his heirs that the said Thomas Price and Elizabeth and their heirs Exers Admr's this said tract of lands
with their appurtenances to the said Will'm Royall and his heirs will forever Warrant and Defend in Witness
whereof the said Thomas Price and Elizabeth hath hereunto set their hands an seal the day and year first
above written on Signed sealed and Delivered in the presents of:
At a Court held for Botetourt County the eighth Day of December 1789. This Indenture of Bargain and Sale
was acknowledged in Court the Wife having been first privily examined as the law Directs & thereupon
Ordered to be recorded.
