Town of Courtland
Jacob A. Blackwell stands justly indebted to Charles McClung in the sum of $717 by note
bearing date of 7 Sep 1822 (being the date of this instrument) Jacob Blackwell gave
over personal property against the note (in essence).
7 Feb 1826: Between Wm. H. Whitaker and Maria, his wife and Joshua Cox and his wife of the
first part. and Charles McClung, Jr. of the second part. The 1st part paid $500 for land
adjacent to the town of Courtland to wit: intersection of Hamilton St. and Clinton St., north
59 poles, thence west 14 1/2 poles, thence south 59 poles, thence east 14 1/2 poles to
the beginning (yet so that Jefferson St. can and shall be contained through said premises . . .
Charles McClung, Jr. purchases a lot in the town of Courtland for $700 paid to Courtland
Company for lot #15 in the plan of said town . . .
