John Mulhone married Bridget Heany on 22 July 1841 in Lissan RC church. The first names of their fathers are not given. The witness to the marriage was Cecelia McElhone. Incidentally John and Bridget were 2nd cousins and had to have a dispensation from Dr Crolly the then Archbishop of Armagh.They were 2nd cousins. On the comments section on the marriage cert it said Tintagh. Tintagh is a townland in Derry, parish of Lissan. Tintagh is adjacent to Knockadoo It appears after this couple got married, they moved from the area.
John Mulhone/McElhone was recorded as Mulhone -so were his children.

2. JAMES2 MULHONE/MCELHONE (JOHN1 MULHONE) was born 5 October 1845 in Kildress Parish, Corkhill Townland Tyrone Ireland, and died 7 January 1900 in Renfrewshire, Port Glasgow Scotland. He married MARY ANN DONNELLY.

When James died - his body was found in water at Patons Quay Port Glasgow. His usual residence was 18 Ann Street Greenock. He was last seen alive on 6th January 1900 about 5.30p.m. in King Street Port Glasgow. The question is what he was doing there?
The family lived in King St by the 1881 census. His body was found on the beach at the West end of Neirren shore about 8.30 a.m. the next day.

I was at the Mitchell Library today and found the following:
From the "Glasgow Herald" Monday, January 8th. 1900 p.6 col 7
"Yesterday morning,about half past eight o'clock while James McNeil, residing at 7 Shore Street, was walking along the Mirren shore, he observed the body of a man lying being where it had being left by the receding tide. The police had the body conveyed to the mortuary. Later in the day they received intelligence from Greenock to the effect that a man called James McIhone had left his house at 18 Ann Street the previous afternoon without saying where he was going. The body was identified as that of McIhone, who was 54 years of age and had formerly resided in Port Glasgow."
Searched next four days for further information - nothing found.
James is in the Greenock Cemetery. The date is the date of burial.
