Additional text submitted by Lyndon Beam 11/14/02:Myrtle Lee married my great grandfather, Lawrence Volney McLester. Lawrence's brother Ed (Theodore Roosevelt) started the McLester Cemetery in McLester Acres. Their father was, I believe, the first McLester in Rockport, a gentleman by the name of Charles Henry McLester. Charles had 10 children - several of them are buried in the private cemetery, but a few are out in the world, somewhere. I don't know all the details, but my mother (Linda Lauren McLester Griffin Beam) is in touch with Barbara McLester Hayden, who is the current caretaker: there was a family falling out at some point, which is the primary reason why all the McLesters aren't in the private cemetary. The secondary reason is that enlarging the cemetery would require a re-surveying of the land, which is not desireable.

Michael, James Daineese “J.D.” b. 9/30/1926 d. 2/7/1992; Mary Lou b. 7/31/1930 d. ______Sec. 1_

Submitted by Lyndon Beam 11/14/02 My only close relatives in the area,         anymore, are Craig Griffin, who owns Charlotte Plummers' restaurant, and Mary  Lou Michael who is in one of the nursing homes in the area. She is the Mary Lou Michael whose name is engraved in the Michael headstone on the McLester plot, she will be next to J.D., who was her second husband and a favorite "uncle" of mine. J.D. was with me when I first went hunting, on opening day, and shot two deer with a single shot.
