WIFE NOTES:
Hi Stuart, Recently found information regarding Abigail Miles, wife of Alexander Maxey. The Topsfield vital records say that she was "of Salem, Massachusetts" and the marriage date was also in Topsfield v.r.. Salem vital records state that she was born 5jul1669 (church record) and was the child of Joseph Miles and Exercise Felton. In his history of Salem, 1928. Sidney Perley states: (page 233) Joseph Miles was in New England as early as 1653, and lived in Salem in 1658. He was a cooper by trade. Joseph Miles married first, Mary Whelase, Jan. 18, 1661/2; she died in 1663; married second, Exercise Felton Nov. 7, 1664; he died in the spring of 1693; she died, his widow, in the summer of 1704; Children: Mary, born Apr 1, 1666; died young Susanna, born Oct 7, 1667 Abigail, born Jul5, 1669 Mary, born March 27, 1671 Elizabeth, baptized Nov, 1673 Sarah, Baptized, May 1677 married Thomas Elkins, 1701.

FELTON Page, 241 Among the immigrants who settled Salem in 1633 was a Felton family from Coventry, Warwickshire, England, consisting of Mrs. Eleanor (Thrower) Felton, widow of John Felton and her four children, Benjamin, twenty years old, Nathaniel, seventeen, Judith, about eight, and Margaret. Benjamin Felton; turner, married Mary_____. Died 1688. Children: John, baptized Dec 26, 1639, probably left Salem in 1685 Exercise married Joseph Miles Remember, baptized May 28, 1643; married George Samon Benjamin, baptized Jan 18, 1645/6 died in 1668 Lt.
