Holder, Carroll, Lindenmier

While I have not researched the information it is from a very good source:

The CARROLL, HOLDER, LINDENMIER Families:

***

Motto: In Fide Et In Bello Fortes
Translation: Strong in faith and war
The Carroll family is descended from Milesius, King of Spain, through the line of his son Heber. The O'Carrols belonged to the Kianacha tribe, founded by Kiann, son of Olliol Ollum, first absolute King of Munster, A.D. 177 and his consort Sabia, daughter of Con of the Hunderd Battles, King of Ireland, A.D. 148.
The founder of the family was Kieran, son of Sedna, son of Trena, son of Tigernach, of the race of Kian.
The originsl name was Ciarail, or Cearbhoil, and signified " Perverse". The titles of the chiefs were Prince of Ely, and Lords of Calry, and they had possessions in Kerry, Tipperary, and Kings Counties.
For centuries the O'Carrolls were foremost in resisting the invader, and are represented as among the stoutest and most formidable borderers to the "Stranger" among the old races of Erin.
In America, the descendants of this distinguished family hold an honored place. We allude here to a scant few of their countless number. Charles Carroll of Carrollton, the last survivor of the signers of the Declaration of Independence; Archbishop Carroll of Baltimore, founder of the Catholic Hierarchy of the United States, and the friend and co-worker of Washington and Franklin in the cause of the Revolution. Daniel Carroll one of the thirty six delegates who signed the Constitution of the United States in 1787, presented to George Washington the ground on which the plan of the Federal city was laid. He lived to see ten Presidents inhabiting the White House, "where once the smoke of his chimney ascended in solitude over the waters of the calm Potomac."
The Carrolls were stalwart leaders in battle, strong and ardent in their faith and prominent always among the world's men of letters.

A short story about James and the folks, but a pleasant one:
My Family Moved back to Arkansas from St. Louis in 1945, we lived with Aunt Myrt and Uncle Alex for a whil. World War 2, was over and the times seem happy again. We were young and happy.
My cousin was like a big brother to me. Maybe a year older. I was a regular thron in his side, Just like a brother.I remember one summer morning we were setting in the kitchen around the table. Aunt Myrt had fixed another good breakfast. Her house set there on a hill out side of town. I would say there were about four or five steps from the back screen door to the ground. Then the ground really went down hil.Come to breakfast, James, said Aunt Myrt. Then James came into the kitchen kind of sleepy; Good Morning James we said. I was ready to get another day started. But for some reason; James tripped on the floor, and rolled out the screen door, down the steps and down the long drop in the back yard.
Finally quit rolling, got up and frowned, looked at us. And by then we were laughing so loud we couldn't stop. We Knew he was alright. But Aunt Myrt got mad at Uncle Alex and all the rest of us for laughing. As soon as she was sure he was alright, she begin to giggle. Then we all broke up again. There was love that morning, even James had a good laugh. I just wonder if he remembers?
