ASK MY PERMISSION before copying this information.
I have the complete marriage dates on these families, but left the dates out of this story on purpose.
If you are a genuine JONES researcher, and would like to EXCHANGE information, contact me.
This is the Solomon Jones Family as I know it.
Have updated this information somewhat as new information is found.
I usually order Civil War Pension and Military Records and find them
more reliable than "handed from person to person information".
Use marriage, census and cemetery records for my information.
Did you ever play that game where you gather in a circle and one person whispers in the next person's ear a "word". And that word, in turn, is whispered into the ear of the next person and so on until it gets to the last person in the circle.
That last person is then asked to repeat the "secret word"
That word, as it always turns out, is different than the word
that was started by the first person.
Same thing in genealogy....one person writes something down and passes that information to the next person and adds her\his
little thing to it, and so when each person adds their thingy to this
original information, it is entirely different than the original word
It is called "human nature" to brag and boast and stretch a story
and add things that are not true. It is called gossip.
You will find that Maria Mayberry (as I show it), was one of
Solomon Jones' daughters.
Read this article and also the Goodspeeds" History of the Ozark Region"
and I think you will agree with me that Mariah Mayberry was sister to

(l0) (ll) (12)JONES children died before Lemuel R Jones was born.
These Jones men were born in St. Francois County, Missouri so it is
likely Elizabeth was born there too.
Have Benjamin, Thomas R and Lemuel R Jones' Civil War Pension records.
See "Goodspeeds Reminiscent History of the Ozark Region", page 337 re
Solomon Jones.
Solomon's wife Elizabeth Burnam Jones died ca 1836,probably Pope County,
Arkansas.
St. Francois County, Missouri is where Nathaniel Flood\Flud married
Mary Polly Jones in l833.
Could Mary Polly Jones be related??
Believe she was daughter of David Jones, Senior and sister to
Simon Jones of Newton County,Arkansas.
Elizabeth Flood married David Jones Jr. ca 1832 in St.Francois County,Missouri. Have copy of their marriage license.
Also David Flood married a SUSANNAH RHODE(Rhodes?) ca 1831 in
either St.Francois or Madison County, Missouri.
Simon Jones and Mary Polly Jones Flood were certainly related somehow
to the family of Solomon Jones.
Nathan and Mary Polly Jones Flood's first child Nancy Jane Flood Bray
Burdine was born in St. Francois County, Missouri.
Their next child and first son was named John"Kink"Flud also born in
St. Francois County, Missouri.
Their second son was named David Flood (probably named after her
father David Jones---following the old naming pattern).
SOLOMON JONES married (2) ELSIE LANE in Newton County, Arkansas after his first wife died. I have never found an Elsie Lane in any records.
He was in Pope County,Arkansas in 1836.
in 1850 in Searcy County,Arkansas, Visit #171, Tomahawk Township,
but no wife is listed----he is living in the Evans household.
Believe he died in 1856.
But one note I have states he was born 1780 in North Carolina and
died in 1856.
He was in St.Francois County,Missouri to 1834.

I have found about 90% of my research by using the LDS (Mormon)
Family History Center Libraries. They micofilm the actual records.
Use libraries and read a little microfilm.
I also place queries on GenForum.com. They are a lot better place
than Ancestry.com.
Don't be a clicker and copier, be a doo--er.
