Thomas Peter Sanders Story.
Many, many Northern Arkansas families are descended from
Capt. Thomas Peter Sanders.

Ramsey, Hall, Hammon, Shinn, Keys, Bolin, Kent, Criner, Hefley,

Peter was born in 1818 in Bedford County, Tennessee, son of
Peter Sanders and Marchial Tarbutton of North Carolina.
Peter married Mary Jane Moody , born 1818 in Bedford County, Tennessee,
about 1837 in either Illinois or Tennessee.
Peter was called Captain Sanders, having served in Fourth Missouri
Cavalry Confederate States of America, enlisting in May of 1861 in
Oregon County, Missouri.
His physical description states he had blue eyes, dark hair,
sandy complexion and was 6 feet tall.
The average height for Civil War Soldiers was about 5 feet 5 inches,
so Peter was tall for that period of time.

which he lost or had to sell during the Civil War.
By 1869 his family moved to Marion County, Arkansas and then into

Found several pieces of land that were in the Sanders Families in
Newton County, Arkansas.
So many people discount land records as not important in their
research. This is not true.
Homestead records many times give genealogy information.
You need all the numbers listed to send for the land records.
