  General Notes:

Lena E. Koontz, 78, Bedford, died Tuesday evening, February 6, 1968, in the Bedford County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Colerain Township March 9, 1891, the daughter of Harvey and Katherine (Morgart) Shaffer. She is survived by her husband Stanley Koontz and these children: Charles, Bedford RD 4; Ray, McConnellsburg; Margaret, wife of Kenneth Beegle, Bedford RD 4; Mary, wife of Robert Moose, New Wilmington, Pa.; Sara, wife of Palmer Pittman, Bedford RD 2; Stanley Jr., Bedford RD 4; Ruth, wife of Merle Diehl, Bedford RD 1; and Eleanor, wife of Allen Baker, Bedford RD 1. 33 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a brother John, of Cambridge, Ohio, also survive. She was a member of the Bedford Eastern Star, the United Church of Christ, Friends Cove, and a member of the hospital auxiliary. Funeral services: Friday, 2 p.m. at the United Church of Christ, Friends Cove, with Rev. Anna Daugherty officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Friends will be received in the Louis Geisel Funeral Chapel, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. The body will be removed to the church Friday at 1 p.m. until time of services for viewing.

Stanley Koontz- and Miss Lena Shaffer, of Rainsburg, were married Wednesday morning at the residence of the bride's uncle, John Morgart, in Cumberland. After a wedding trip spent in Baltimore, they will reside at Rainsburg.
