Jackson Morgart was a much respected farmer of West Providence township, having farmed at the old Morgart homestead.

Rebecca was for several years made her home with the Sponslers, where she died. She was a most Christian woman having professed saving faith in Christ early in life, and identified herself with the Christian church of which she remained till death a consistent member.

July 23 1870

This will was made "while he was sick and weak in body but sound of mind". He willed that his executors sell undivided one half of 230 "sorree" acres in W. Providence Twp. lying in the township adjacent lands of Jos. Weaverling "kerris beris" and others. All of the homeplace containing 166 acres of Meadow (which he was willed from Bolser) lying along turnpike adjacent toll gate to sons George Washington Morgart, James Henry Morgart, William Morgart share and share alike for which they are to keep their mother Rebecca in health and sickness and in all the necessaries of life so long as she remains my widow so that she will be well treated and treated as a mother should be. And to pay to Catharine Amanda Weaverling $100 three years after my death, Mary Elizabeth Morgart $10 when she comes of age, Rebecca Jane $100 when she comes of age, Arabell $100 when she comes of age, and $100 to Ida Florence until she comes of age. George W. and James are to assist their mother to raise the younger children "to be clothed, fed, and schooled" as they are now.
