STEPHEN ENGLISH, eighth child of James and Elizabeth English, was born in English's Ferry, New River, Virginia. He migrated to Texas in 1824 and acquired one league one labor of land. In 1834 he was married and had four children. His will was probated in Shelby County, Texas in 1849.
