Johanna and Anna Tuttle are probably one and the same person. She is
named Johanna Judson Tuttle and Anna Tuttle in various references.
"New England Marriages" John Hurd married Ann (Tuttle) Judson, widow
of Joshua Judson; 10 Dec. 1662, Stratford, CT.
The Ancestors of John Chester Tuttle on WFT lists Anne Tuttle, born
1633 in Ringstead, Northampton, England; died March 16, 1695/96 in
Stratford, CT. Married #1 Joshua Judson Abt. 1655; married #2 John
Hurd. Hanna was baptized Anne in England, January 20, 1632/33,
married Hurd December 10, 1662. Stratford vital records lists John,
Jr. m. Anna Judson, wid, Dec. 10, 1662. In records at Stratford 18 Nov
1678 and on 22 Feb 1685 a mortgage was paid off to Jerre Judson
(1:300) John Hurd purchased of Jeremiah Judson, his wife's other
brother-in-law, a mill and accommodations in Woodbury 16 Sept, 1678.
The Tuttles came to America on the ship "Planter" in 1635 from
Northampton, England and settled in New Haven, CT.
Jacobus, "Tuttle, Pantry, Judson, Hurd, An Important Correction." TAG:
(1954) 30:7-10. Hannah Tuttle who m. John Pantry and Thomas Welles has
often been called daughter of William, but Pope called her daughter of
Richard in 1900 and Jacobus corrected her parentage as given in his
Hale-House in TAG 30:7. It was incorrect what he had in "Families of
Ancient New Haven," comp. by Donald Lines Jacobus (Rome, NY, 1924)

Whereas Widow Mary MUNN finds that it is deficient? For her being a
Widow without help to make and maintain the fence and perform the
conditions which her last husband Samuel MUNN engaged in the record
next below specifyd she together with the mutual consent and agreement
of both Anne HURD, Benj HURD and the rest interested that this acre of
meadow be returned to the heirs of the sŽd John HURD bounded as is the
same staked as before that bargain and to confirm the same sŽd act
they have subscribed the 15 of 9 MŽo 1689

Samuel MUNN hath purchased of John HURD an acre of meadow in the
Eastmeadow be it more or less bounded North with his own land, bounded
South with the said JnŽo HURD, butting West upon the highway, and
butting east upon his own land pasture on the eastside of the River –
the Conditions of the purchase is that ye sŽd Samuel MUNN, is to make
and maintain a sufficient fence in the? Dividend line between them
forever, or also to help bring the River to such places where they
have ever run on at the east end of this parcell of land, it is agreed
on that the fence is to be five rail fence or that which is equivelant
to it. Recorded this 21 of 1 Mo 1683? Per JnŽo MINOR Recorder
and acknowledged and the parted subscribed the same day before me JnŽo
JnŽo HURD ye 31 Oct 1684 enters covenant against this parcel of land
next above recorded for the performance of the Conditions for which it
was alienated as attests JnŽo MINOR Recorder
Parsonage Land or Common for and in consideration of which purchase of
said John HURD is to make sufficient and so maintain forever that
parcel of fence to said John HURDŽs fence for that field as lies?
Between Mr. John LEVENWORTH deceased his fence and the said Jonathan
HOUGH his fence and that this contract is confirmed to all intents as
if exprest in a formal bill of sale the partys have acknowledged the
same according to law, and have subscribed this 8 of January 1684

Mathew MITCHELL hath to him layd out ye 8 of February 1689 Twenty two
acres of land be it more or less as staked & bounded out by the
Committee at ?ransylvania bounded South with the highway North with
the common, and bounded east and west with the Common, upon the hill
on both sides with Conveniency for fencing, here note that five acres
was pasture land, Six acres was homelot division that he purchased by
exchange with JnoŽ SQUIRE, two acres white oak plain division, and
nine acres of goodhill division, one acre he pitcheth on the
compliment of his goodhill lot next south to that which he purchased
of Henry CASTLE. Recorded according to order the 6 of May 1692
per JnŽo MINOR, Recorder
Mathew MITCHELL upon the seventh of March 1692, 1693 by the consent
and agreement of all concerned hath an addition to his homelot four
rod of it in the round hill next west from his dwelling House as
staked out by the Committee, notwithstanding what is before recorded,
be it more or less bounded South westerly with Joseph HURLBUTT SenŽr
North and Westerly with the highway, Easterly with his own homelot,
entered the same time.
