Brooks High School 30 year reunion for 1976 leavers

Brooks crest

School Motto: Bukmak Djama Bukmak Gornggayun (Everbody work, Everybody help).

School Song:
There's a school that's in Tasmania,
The place where we belong;
It's a fine place and a happy place,
This one we praise in song.
Here we learn the rule of ev'ry school,
Where-ever we may go,
That's ev'ry day, at work, or play,
We'll give the best we know.
CHORUS
We'll remember those sunny days,
And the hours of happy sport;
We'll remember our comrades
And the friends who learn't and taught
Though at home we are, or travel far
To the North, South, East or West,
We'll not forget our school days yet,
In the school we love the best.

Houses and colours: Hughes - white, Cosgrove - yellow, McIntyre - maroon and Fletcher - green.

When the sub-schools were named after the houses in the 1980's then for some reason the houses and colours were different.

Many thanks to all that attended and made contact for the 30 year reunion for Brooks 1976 leavers at Archer's Manor, for Saturday, 28 October 2006. It was a great success with about 60 people attending.

Here are some photographs of the evening.

A very special thanks to Elizabeth Death (formerly June Panye) and her family for doing a lot a hard work to make it possible.

Please keep the photos coming in. Copies of non-digital photos are welcome too. Contact us for mailing addresses.

There was a keen interest for a 35 year reunion and with people helping this should be very possible. Please keep in touch and help add contact details for others that we cannot contact. There will be a list of leavers who we have not been able to get in contact with. You may know where some of them are.

The website will keep operating well past the reunion so that others may view it.

Brooks buildings that are still standing in 2006.
