Samuel Pangburn 

 

The following is the text of the obituary notice of Samuel Pangburn as published in the Elizabeth Herald. Samuel was my great-great-grandfather. Photo's of their grave markers are below.

Obituary:

Elizabeth Herald Thursday April 13, 1911

Samuel Pangburn, died at Webster, Pa. on Thursday April 6, aged 81 years. He had been ailing for a considerable time with an affection of the heart, and his death was very sudden.

Mr. Pangburn was a native of Forward Twp. and lived most of his life there, but in his later years, since the death of his wife, has made his home with his daughter in Webster.Three children survive, namely, Walter Pangburn of North Charleroi, Mrs Flora Davidson of Charleroi, and Mrs Walter Speer of Webster. Mr Pangburn was a member of the Baptist Church and a man of upright life, held in high esteem by all who knew him. He served in the Union Army in the rebellion. The burial was in Curry Cemetery near Webster on Saturday.
