In the name of God amen. I William Gatlin of The County of Craven and State of North Carolina. Being weak of body but thanks be to God of Sound Mind and memory and Calling to mind the uncertainty Of this temporey life do make and ordain this to be And Contain my last will and testament, in manner and Form as Follows. to wit:

Item. I give and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Elizabeth Gatlin all my house hold and Kitchen furniture, with All my Stock of Cattel, hoggs and Sheep and plantation Tools and horses During her life and then to Return back Back into the Stock to be Equally divided between my Three Neases, Sidney Gatlin Gatlin and Mary Ernul wife of Aaron Ernul and Elizabeth Gatlin.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Elizabeth Gatlin My Negro man Frank during her life and my negro Woman Fillis and after her death to Return back In to the Stock and be Equally divided between my Three Neases all Ready named.

Item. My Will and desire is that my beloved Wife Elizabeth Gatlin and her domestick family be hansomly Metained out of the higher of my of my Negros during her Life then my Will and desire is after all my Just Debts are paid that all my Negros be Equally divided Between my three Neases Sidney Gatlin and Mary Ernul Wife of Aaron Ernul and Elizabeth Gatlin, daughters of my brother James Gatlin.

Item. My will and desire is that all My lands be Equally Devided between my three Neases all Ready Named.

Item. I do hereby appoint my Wife Elizabeth Gatlin and Aaron Ernul to be my Executors of this my last Will and testament. In testamony Whereof I have Hereunto affixt my hand and Seal this Twentyseventh day of March in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and twenty two.

Signed Sealed published and declared to be and Contain the Subscribers last Will and testament.

May Term A. D. 1823

The foregoing last will of William Gatlin dec'd. was provided in Court, and the execution by said testator was proved in open court, and in due form of law by the oaths of Moses Ipock and Arthur Ipock, subscribing witnesses thereto. At same time Aaron Ernull qualified as Executor.
