Abraham Albertus Langeveldt married Louisa Annie Flux on 31st of October 1877 in Shirley by Southampton, Hampshire, England. Little of him is known before that date except that he had a sister named Carlotta. Family oral history tells us that he was employed as a steward on the "Royal Yacht" and was dismissed due to an altercation with the Prince of Wales. He sailed from Southampton for Australia with his young family in about 1889 and arrived in either Sydney or Adelaide. He later came to Melbourne and was employed as head steward at the Menzies Hotel. Abraham and his wife are buried in the Brighton Cemetery, Melbourne
