I have been interested in genealogy for over 20 years and during that time I have compiled a database with over 1500 names. During my searches I have found that I have 6 great great grandparents and 4 great grandparents who have migrated to Australia beginning from the 1840's.

The following pages are an attempt to provide access to the knowledge I have accumulated and also to provide a conduit whereby future generations can add there names to the database.

This beautiful old photograph hung in the home of Louisa Langeveldt (Flux) along with a photograph of a country house. She always referred to it as "her family". Unfortunately no one ever recorded the names of the people in the family group. Assuming that Louisa is one of the girls in the picture, the photo was taken around 1865-70. We can then assume that the couple on the left were her parents and the elderly gentleman on the right was possibly her grandfather.

This is a timely warning to all future genealogists and those interested in recording their family history. The family members who have the old photographs are urged to keep them safe and to identify all those in the photograph and on what occasion it was taken. Otherwise in the future many of these photographs will be unidentifiable and will be thrown out as rubbish.
