and the type of change. This should help guide you since your last visit.
Smaller changes are made on weekly and sometimes daily bases and are not listed on
this page, but check the "Last Updated" date listed on each webpage for last update.

May 25, 2013- Named and linked 203 cemetery marker photographs taken May 6,2013 in the
Saint Mary's Richland Center Cemetery.
May 19, 2013- Named and linked 219 cemetery marker photographs taken April 24,2013 in the
Saint Mary's Richland Center Cemetery. I need to do the same for those taken May 6, 2013.
May 9, 2013- Added 9 records, updated data in the Saint Mary's Richland Center Cemetery for the
North Section. I still need to name and link the new cemetery marker photographs.
April 29, 2013- Added 31 records, updated data in the Saint Mary's Richland Center Cemetery. I still
need to name and link the new cemetery marker photographs and complete a review of the North Section.
April 19, 2013- Added 5 records, updated data and added marker photographs in my "999" section
(burial spaces next to Park Street) of the Saint Mary's Richland Center Cemetery. I have added
the grave/space number after the 999 to aid in finding the grave location. The new header is now:

February 10, 2013 Divided the Maiden Name Xfer. from one large webpage into two parts, for the
Richland Center Cemetery. They are now Maiden Name Xfer A-L and Maiden Name Xfer M-Z.
The large single webpage with starting to become a problem for my web editor to handle.
I will now have to edit in two different pages, which will not be as easy, but my editor
should stop freezes up.
January 31, 2013- Added 13 new records and updated many records using Find-A-Grave and other sources
for the West Fork Cemetery.
January 22, 2013- Added 1 new record and updated many records using Find-A-Grave and other sources
for the Tavera Cemetery.
January 15, 2013- Updated the links for the Wisconsin and Richland County Tombstone Photograhs under
the Richland County WI and Related Research Links (link at the top of the main
Richland County Cemteries page).
January 15, 2013- Removed 3 duplicate names and updated many records using Find-A-Grave and other sources
for the East Pine River Cemetery.
January 6, 2013- Added 12 new records and updated many records using Find-A-Grave and other sources
for the Greenwood Cemetery.
January 2, 2013 - Renamed the scanned obits from 2000 to 2012, so surname was first instead of Newspaper
Issue date, so it is easier to find surnames. These are now all together (total of 14,691 obits)
with the 1970-1999 and placed under each letter of the alphabet by surname (all the a's under A
folder, all the b's under B folder, etc) These are available at the Richland County History Room.
December 27, 2012- Added 19 new records and updated many records using Find-A-Grave and other sources
for the Willow Valley Cemetery.December 15, 2012-Updated many records using Find-A-Grave & other sources for PleasantRidge-Willow Cemetery.
December 8, 2012-Updated many records using Find-A-Grave & other sources for the Rockbridge Cemetery.
November 16, 2012 - Renamed the scanned obits from 1970 to 1999, so surname was first instead of Newspaper
Issue date, so it is easier to find surnames. These are in decade groupings and I still need

November 6, 2012 - Added a link for the Wisconsin Vital Records Services at top of the Main Cemetery Page

October 16, 2012 - On the Main Page of my Richland County Cemtery records at the bottom of the page,
I have added the statement below, along with the link to the Cemetery Guide. The Cemetery
Guide link is on each cemetery's main page, but was not on the one listing all the cemeteries.
First and foremost, my Richland Counrty Wisconsin Cemetery records ARE NOT a cemetery tombstone transcription
project, where are the information comes only from the tombstone engravings. My information from many other sources.

I have also cleaned up the Cemetery Guide for printability, spelling and grammar errors and added the
above statement along with the Pico Search link and explained why and how to use Pico to search all of
the cemeteries records to find the key word/s you type.
October 5, 2012 - Using CZECHS TO VERNON by Richard Greenough, I have for the last month made changes and
added data to my 1,282 Czech National (Champion Valley) Cemetery. I would say 25%-35% of these
records were changed; mainly their full names, parents and marriage dates and full birth and
death dates.
If you have any Czechs in your research line (not just the Czech National Cemetery connection),
make sure to use this fully FREE and OUTSTANDING site. CZECHS TO VERNON by Richard Greenough website
contains 4,734 records at this date and has many additional features. I have seen no better website.

September 1, 2012 - Created and posted a Cemetery Layout Map, to help assist finding burial locations,
in the Sextonville Cemetery. Just click Cemetery Layout Map, from cemetery main page.
September 1, 2012 - Added 12 new people and their marker photographs from an April 2012 visit,
for the Sextonville Cemetery.
August 25, 2012 - Added 4 new record and updated many of the records using Find-A-Grave
website and other sources for the Lawton Cemetery.
August 24, 2012 - 1,008 scanned obits from 1970, 1971 & 1972 including 9 current 2012 obits
have been completed as part of my Richland Observer Scanned Obituaries 1970
to Date Project for (and are available at) the Richland County History Room.
THIS NOW COMPLETES MY OBITS 1970 to date scanning project started April 20, 2011,
which now stands at 14, 602 obits. I will however be checking some missing and
unclear obits plus continue to update the newer obits.
July 23, 2012 - 312 scanned obits from 1973 including 19 current 2012 obits
have been completed as part of my Richland Observer Scanned Obituaries 1970

June 25, 2012 - 302 scanned obits from 1974 including 23 current 2012 obits

June 5, 2012 - 597 scanned obits from 1975 and 1976 including 29 current 2012 obits
have been completed as part of my Richland Observer Scanned Obituaries 1970
to Date Project for (and are available at) the Richland County History Room.
May 29, 2012 - Corrected "Cemetery Burial Numbers" which lists a Map key number, which contained 18
mismatched Map key numbers (which then lead you to wrong cemetery and location).
Also changed "Cemetery Location Map" that shows the general location of noted cemetery
(contained two 79's instead of a 70 & a 79.
Both under the Richland County Cemeteries Additional Information.
May 8, 2012 - 258 scanned obits from 1977 including 23 current 2012 obits
have been completed as part of my Richland Observer Scanned Obituaries 1970

December 30, 2011 - The Richland Cemetery Cemetery website from the City of
Richland Center has gone online in mid-December. What a NICE Xmas present for
those of us that do cemetery research/family geneology or just family and friends that are
trying to locate an interred person. Here is how you can get to this new webpage:From their main page:

You then can fill in the field or fields want: Example just using the Last Name only
(and then clicking the magnifing glass icon) will give you ALL the people that are interred
(NOT the living or owner).And if you click the Map Icon in the lower lefthand corner it will bring up the Cemetery map
and clicking a section on that map will give you a close up with the lot numbers. (If you
have problems with the maps displaying - MOST LIKELY YOU NEED TO UPDATE YOUR ABODE READER
(which they have the link right next to the map icon)).GREAT JOB!!!
I am using it to double check any burials and location data etc. which I may have missed
- WHICH I DID MISS SOME and now adding some new records, locations, middle names, etc.
(I typed 1/1/2010 in the DATE INTERRED field and for RANGE used the dropdown arrow and used 2 years).
December 12, 2011 - 329 scanned obits 1986 including 25 current 2011 obits have been completed
and the balance of approx. 4,700 (1970 to 1985) scanned obits (that still need file

May 17, 2011 - 901 scanned obits 1997 & 1998 including 20 current 2011 obits have been completed
as part of my Richland Observer Scanned Obituaries 1970 to Date Project for

April 20, 2011 - 4,395 scanned obits 1999-2011 including current 2011 week have been completed
as part of my Richland Observer Scanned Obituaries 1970 to Date Project for
(and are available at) the Richland County History Room.
I plan to update the scans to the History Room on a monthly bases, which would
include the latest month and another older year (working from latest unscanned
year back to 1970). At this rate of one older year scanned per month, it would
take me another 28 months - I'll TRY to get this done faster as time allows.

and pre-needs markers . . . THIS IS AN ONGOING PROJECT . . . the photos
will be added and linked as each is completed.
May 12, 2010 - Added the Richland Memorial (R.M.) sections (AA to HH) to the General Map and
created maps for R.M sections (R.M. AA to HH) in the Richland Center Cemetery
Richland Center Cemetery Section Lot Maps These are not lots like the other
sections but rows and burial spaces - use the Section and Row number to find the
general location {grave letters in the older sections and space numbers at R.M.
are not listed on the webpages}.
May 11, 2010 - Added 147 new people (mainly owners)and updated many grave locations for the Richland
Memorial Section (R.M. AA to HH) in the Richland Center Cemetery.

(in PDF Format)" under the Richland County Cemeteries Additional Information.

March 13, 2010 Added HERE THEY SLEEP, TALES THE TOMBSTONES TELL and uploaded the photographs
to the Jennings Cemetery.
February/March 2010 - I have completed 60 cemeteries with the HERE THEY SLEEP and the TALES THE
TOMBSTONES TELL link on each of these Cemeteries, with approx. 40 more to complete yet.
February/March 2010 - Reviewed and cross referenced the 3,300 plus listed veterans in my
Cemetery database with the Richland County Veterans Memorial project list. Then
provided to Loretta McCarthy any of the ones in my list not presently on their list,

January 16, 2010 - Added a "Cemetery Burial Numbers" which list a Map key number, the cemetery name,
Township, orginal number of burials recorded before my cemetery project, the number listed
to the end of 2009, the name of the 1st recorded burial and the year of the last recorded
burial (Up to 2010). Also I have added "Cemetery Location Map" to show the general location
of the listed cemeteries. Both under the Richland County Cemeteries Additional Information.
January 15, 2010 - Added a summary of the Veterans by war, that are listed in my Richland Co
Cemeteries under "Richland County Cemeteries Additional Information". You can view

January 13, 2010 - Created another section at the top of the main cemetery page which is titled
"Richland County Cemeteries Additional Information" which will provide such things as
Cemetery Names & Alias {which is completed), Cemetery lists with total number of burials,
townships, number of veterans, selected photographs, etc. These will be added as time

January 11, 2010 - Added 15 General Photographs taken in 2000 of the Willow Valley Cemetery.
January 11, 2010 - Added 12 General Photographs taken in 2000 & 2004 of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
December 31, 2009 - YEAR END REPORT on adding HERE THEY SLEEP Narratives and TALES THE TOMBSTONES TELL
articles to each cemetery main page. This project started on Nov. 21, 2009 and todate
I have completed 42 of the 97 cemeteries in Richland County. Remember that the
HERE THEY SLEEP Narratives were written by Herbert Dieter and others while working on the
Township cemetery survey project in the mid-1970's and the TALES THE TOMBSTONES TELL
articles were written by Steven Fogo and published in the Richland Observer from 1955 to 1959.
These are not my documents or articles and I know that they may contain errors (and their
viewpoint may not be the same as mine) but I feel they add a great value to the over all
study of these cemeteries.
December 31, 2009 - YEAR END REPORT on the review of each of the 950 plus Civil War Veterans that
are listed as buried in the Richland County cemeteties. This has been an ongoing project
since August/2009 to date (still some followups) with Virgil Matz and the SONS OF UNION
VETERANS OF THE CIVIL WAR. Their wesite: SONS OF UNION VETERANS OF THE CIVIL WAR
This work with Virgil has resulted in addtional information and corrections to my records
and I wish to give a big THANK YOU to Virgil for all his many hours and assistance.
December 31, 2009 - YEAR END REPORT on the Richland Center Cemetery Photograph Linking Project -
This project that started Feb. 2, 2009 to link the 12,000 cemetery photos along with
data review and updates ended on November 12, 2009 with Block G. The LONG project that
still needs the newest section Richland Memorial (RM) to be completed. This section
I plan to review the cemetery plat with the city records to gather the lot/grave
locations and photograph in the summer of 2010.

permits. One that is now done and be viewed as an example is the Oak Ridge Cemetery.

October 27, 2007 - Added the date the cemetery was photographed on the main cemetery page for
each cemetery (Only 13 cemeteries completely photograped at this point) so when there is
a missing photograph (not linked to any photo) the person can use this Cemetery Photographed
date on the main page and the death date of the person listed and that way if a person
passed in 2003 (and did not have a marker ahead of time or the photo is without a death year)
understand that photos were take before their death or marker with placed.

from family branches and documents for this "Ethnic Rich"
cemetery . . so keep this in mind. A special thanks to
J. LAMBACH and an extra BIG thanks to L.PHALIN for the
corrections and MANY MANY additions these lastthree months.

Dec. 10, 2002 - Upload the remaining cemeteries/plots/burials for
Richland County. This is an additional 3,512 records
in 51 cemeteries & plots. For a total of 34,000 plus
records.
NOTES: The New & Old part of the Richland Co. Home are
now one listing (and noted if NEW or OLD part).
Also created a new one called Unknown which is the people
who died in the county and no cemetery was listed. ALSO
under the Unknown is NEW for all the present and future
burial that range from the back yards in Richland Center
to the homesteads, that way I do not have to create another
two dozen or so NEW plots.
