I Jacob Flinn of Dorchester in the County of Norfolk, Gentleman, being of sound, disposing mind and memory, do hereby make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner following viz
Firstly. I do hereby revoke and annul any and all Will or Wills by me at any time heretofore made.
Secondly After payment of my just debts and the expenses of my last sickness, and funeral I do hereby give and devise to my wife, Bathsheba Flinn my Homestead where I now live together with all my land in Neporset Village with the buildings thereon and the privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging: the same having been purchased with her money excepting however one small lot of corporation lying Southerly of Vinton's and on the Turnpike and also one other Lot called the "James Clapp Lot". To have and to hold the above devised premises to my said wife Bathsheba, her heirs, and assigns to her and their use, forever.
Further I do hereby give and bequeath to my said wife all my household furniture of which I shall die possessed also my horse and Carriage and rack waggon and plow with the harnesses for the same and my speckled cow. Also the income and improvementof the said Lot of land, lying Southerly of vintors, and the said "James Clapp Lot" untill my executors think best to sell and convey said Lots.
Thirdly Untill all my debts shall be fully paid, my Will is that my other Realestate not herein above disposed of shall be rented as hetofore, by my Executors herreinafter named and the rents applied to the payment of my said debts; so that my said wife shall have the immediate possession and income, after my decease, of the estate and property herein before devised and bequeathed to her.
And after all my said debts shall be fully paid I do hereby give and devise to my daughter Mary P. Higgins, wife of George Higgins my Real estate situated in the North easterly side of fourth street, in that part of the city of Boston called South Boston, where I formerly resided, To have and to hold the same, with the buildings thereon and the privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said Mary P. Higgins, in her own right, her heirs and assigns, to her and their use, forever.
Fourthly, I do hereby give and devise to Lucy Ann, wife of Jesse Parker, my Real estate situated at the corner of Fourth street and C. Street, in said South Boston. Also my Real estate, on which stands the Northeasterly house in the block of three houses situated in a passageway leading from Gold Street to Fourth Street in the said South Boston. To have and to Hold the Same with the buildings thereon and the privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging, to her the said Lucy Ann Parker, in her own right, her heirs and assigns to her and their use forever.
Fifthly I do hereby give and bequeath to my Sister Catherine Hutchinson, wife of Soloman Hutchinson, the use improvement and income during her life of the lot of land in Nashville New Hampshire with the dwelling house thereon and the privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging, on and in which she now resides.
Sixthly, I do hereby give and devise to my said two daughters, Mary P.Higgins and Lucy Ann Parker in equal shares in common, after the decease of my said sister Catherine Hutchinson my said Real Estate in Nashville, New Hampshire, Also my undivided half of a quarter [page 2] of an acre of land, with two Cottage houses thereon situated in the Neporset Village, on a street running by the meeting house owned by me in common with William Marshall together with said Corporation land & said "James Clapp Lot" to have and to hold the same to them the said Mary P Higgins and Lucy A. Parker in their own right, their heirs and assigns to their use, forever subject to the life estate of said Catherine in said Nashville [NH].
Seventhly, I give and bequeath to my Brothers widow Betsy Flinn, fifty Dollars.
Eighthly, I give and bequeath to Lydia Beadman living with me fifty Dollars.
Ninthly, I give and bequeath to the Society called the Foreign Mission Union, two hundred Dollars.
Tenthly, I give to the First Baptist society in Dorchester for the support of the Gospel ministry two hundred Dollars.
Eleventhly, I give to my said wife the use and income of my pew in the meeting House of said first Baptist Society; during her life or while she wishes to occupy it, at her decease or ceasing to occupy said pew, I give and devise the same to the Said Baptist Church in fee forever.
Twelfthly, My Will is that my farming utensils and stock, not hereinbefore disposed of shall be sold by my executors hereinafter named, as soon after my decease as conveniently may be.
Thirteenthly, I give devise and bequeath all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate and property of which I shall die seized or possessed of whatsoever nature or description, to my said wife and my said two daughters and their legal representatives, forever, in equal potion, share and share alike.
Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my Sons in law George Higgins and Jesse Parker to be executors of this my last Will. In testimony whereof I the said Jacob Flinn, have hereunto set my hand and Seal, the twelfth day of May, in the year Eighteen hundred and forty seven.
Signed, Sealed, Published and declared by Jacob Flinn to be his last Will and Testament in the presence and hearing of us, who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses hereunto.
