JOHN & ELIZABETH BIRD LANIER
John Lanier was b. abt. 1680 in Charles City, County,
Va. He married Elizabeth Bird abt. 1703.She was the daughter
of Thomas and Mary Jennings Bird and was the
grand daughter of William and Hannah Grendon Jennings.
John died between Apr. 1720 and March 1828.(He was in 1720
records and his wife, Elizabeth sold land inheireted from her
father, without the signature of a husband in 1828)

BIRD THOMAS LANIER;
b. abt. 1703 Surry County, Va. He married Mary? (Madison?) in Va.
and they were in Brunswick County before 1732. They were believed
to have moved from
N.C. to Georgia with his brother Lemuel in 1756. White, author of
"Original Settlers in Georgia" listed him in that book as one of the
"first comers to Screven County, Ga." The "Story of Georgia and Georgia
People" by George Smith , says that headrights were given Lemuel
and Benjamin in 1756.

Lemuel Lanier b. abt 1729 Brunswick County, Va. d. abt. 1770 in Duplin Co.,
Ga. m. abt. 1753 , Sarah Hardy(?)

LEWIS LANIER
Lewis Lanier b. 1753, a Cornet in the Revolution. d. 1792(was caught
in a flash flood and drowned while returning from a visit with his
brother just across Oceechee River(Minutes of Screven Co., Ga. and
Ga. Gazette)
He married in Duplin Co, Margaret ? b. 1760. She was living in 1830
Bullock Co., Ga where they had settled in 1788 along the banks of Lotts
Creek near Aarons and Portal, Ga.

BENJAMIN LANIER
Benjamin Lanier b. 1786 Duplin Co., N.C. Justice of Peace for many
years in Bulloch County, Ga. d. Aug. 1854 in Madison County, Florida.
m. Sept. 1805 Sarah Pridgen, b., 1789 in Ga. dau of Luke and Amelia Pridgen.

LEWIS LANIER b. 1810, Ga. married Mary Lucretia Ross.
b. 1810 Ga, but living in Fort Meade ,Florida before 1850. He was son
of Benjamin and Sarah Pridgen Lanier. It is not documented as to whether
he married more than once.
Children: Fredrick, Culbreth Wayne C. (female) , Adeline Ross Lanier,
