CHILDREN OF JAMES JEFFERSON LANIER

After the death of James Jefferson Lanier, Co.B 31 Regt. CSA, Julia  took
her two surviving children  moved  from Georgia and  into her parents home
in Butler County , AL. They had a Greenville
address. (John Olliver & Mary Dathney Morgan)
   Melissa , dau of James Jefferson, late , and Julia Lanier married
Thomas Mosely  and we believe we may have found her gravesite,
unmarked, beside a Thomas Mosley  in Ebenezer Cemetery, Georgiana, Alabama.
It lacks proving and proving can prove treacherous
with our kin.
    Julia and James J. Lanier's  son James A.Jefferson Lanier
by 1884 had settled in Westover Community near Pigeon Creek
in Covington County.  He married 1884, Elizabeth Hughes.

             son of "Newt" and Alice Bennett Hester. Children , Kathy
             Ruth , Joseph, Lisa and Stephen Hester 2 babies died
             soon after birth with lung defects. John and Thomas.

7.     LOUIS EMANUEL LANIER,  b. 1989 Covington Co. AL. d.
        Hemet, Calif.  m. Hallie Reed, Calif. Served in U.S. Navy
then settled in Los Angeles, Calif as a barber. Later moved to Hemet, California
 where he died. He also barbered in Hemet and had a Hemet Street named for him.
 Lanier St.  He had one step-child  which he called his own. Joan  Lanier married
 Fred Washburn. Bloomington, Calif. residence.

8. HUGH JEFFERSON LANIER
   b. 1900  Covington County, AL d. East Palatka FL. in 1990's
   m. 1st Georgia Owens. Children Minnie Lee, Dorthan, Ernestine and Esther Lee.
   (May have been another) m. 2nd, 3rd, no children
m. 4th Emma, his wife of 38 yrs. at  his death.  They had two sons, Joey Lanier
and Hugh J. Jr... Buried at Palatka , Florida.

    We need a Family by Family History for future generations.

This generation may be well known today but so were other generations in their day....
