James L. Wamsley was
born in Kentucky in 1848. He married
Catherine L. Day, January 16,
1873, in McLean County, Illinois. Their daughter,
Nellie May, was born
October 8, 1873 in Illinois. Herman L.
was born September 1874, in
Illinois and Harry Norwood was born August 12, 1887, in Kansas.
Sometime after 1900 James moved his family to Oklahoma, first Guymon and
then Guthrie, where he lived out his life. In 1887 he is listed as
working for the Santa Fe Railroad and after that as a farmer. James
and Catherine were married for 70 years. Documentation states James'
father was Thomas Wamsley and that his father and mother were both born in
Kentucky. |
