Peter S. Dingman [5762] ^994,1021

  General Notes:

BIOGRAPHY: In Hadley in th 1850 census wa a family consisting of Peter S. Dingman ae. 25 and two of his sisters: Christian ae. 23 and Sarah A. ae. 17. They were children of John H. Dingman and probably his first wife, Abigail. Based on listings in censuses, John H. lived on Hadley Hill in the vicinity of the intersection of Hadley Hill and Eddy Roads.
Peter married Beulah Southworth and in the 1855 census they are in the family of hial Savage in Edinbur, having been there one month. Peter and Beulah lived in Edinbug the rest of their lives. He became a "local preacher" in the Methodist Church.
Beulah, born May 19, 1827 died July 26, 1891 and Peter born Feb. 8, 1826; died Nov. 1, 1906. Rev. Peter and Beulah are bured in the Moss St. Cemetery in Sandy Hill (Hudson Falls). Their cemetery lot is next to the lot of Joseph (1790-1866) and Martha (1791-1840?) Southworth who may have been Beulah's parents.
Peter's sister, Sarah A. Dingman, went back with her father's family wehre she was ae. 32 in the 1865 census, unmarried.
Christian married Asel White of Stony Creek as his second wife. They were in Stony Creek in 1860, but Christian died about then from burns suffered when their house burned. Their two children, Nancy ae. 5 and Margaret ae. 1, are in their grandfather, John Dingman's family in Hadley in 1860. In 1865 margaret was still with her grandfather but Nancy, ae. 10 was the only person in Asel's family in Stony Creek. margaret married Warren Dingman.
The above suggest that John H. and othe older Peter S. Dingman may have been brothers. The younger Peter S. might have been named for his uncle.

I just found Peter s. Dingman with Mariah in the 1860 census in Stony Creek NY Warren Co. at e age of 70 with 19 year old son . What do you think ?
and in 1860 census in Edinburg we have a peter s Dingman age 35 and wife bullah age 30 with son george age 8 months . Could this have been the older peters son ?

Peter married Mariah Harris [5754] [MRIN: 2035], daughter of Charles Harris [5740] and Joanna Harris [5746], on 5 Dec 1824 in Athol, Warren, New York, USA.⁵⁷⁹.^,717 (Mariah Harris [5754] was born in 1799/1800 in Plainfield, Windham, Connecticut, USA and died in 1867/1869 in Hadley, Saratoga, New York, USA.)
