     Spencer Whitlock enlisted in the Military, as a Private in the Union Army He then enlisted in Company G, 154th Infantry Regiment New York on 24 September 1862. On 01 July 1863 he was captured and became a POW at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. (Paroled)

     Spencer Whitlock died disease acquired during his enlistment, at the age of 23, on 14 February 1865 Chattanooga, Hamilton, Tennessee.1,3
