     Jacob Teeter was born on 31 July 1800 in Lansing, Tompkins, New York.1
     On 4 March 1819, Jacob Teeter married Elizabeth Whitlock, daughter of John Whitlock and Mary Morris, in New York.1
     Jacob was listed as the head of a family on the 1850 Census in Veteran, Chemung, New York. Elizabeth Teeter, Lucinda Teeter, John Teeter, Mary Teeter, Reuben Teeter, Rebecca Teeter, Catherine Teeter, Christina Teeter, Richard Watson Teeter and Benajah Teeter were listed as household members.2 He and Elizabeth Teeter appeared on the census of 23 July 1860 in Lowville, Columbia, Wisconsin, also included in the household: Lucinda Teeter, Reuben Teeter, Catherine Teeter, Christina Teeter, Richard Watson Teeter and Benajah Teeter.3
     Jacob Teeter died on 25 May 1872 in Blue Earth, Fairbault, Minnesota, at the age of 71.1
