Descendants of Conrad Reinwald
Katherine (Lanz) Reinwald
Katharine "Katie" Lanz was born on 3 April 1856 in Phillipsburg, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.3,4,5,6
On 23 July 1878, Katharine "Katie" Lanz married Johann "John" Reinwald, son of Conrad Reinwald and Anna Elisabeth Kircher, in St James' Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wellesley, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. They were married by Rev. John Strempfer. Marriage Certificate has Katherine's Surname spelled as LANTZ. The marriage certificate lists John's mother as Christinia Hafermehl. Anna Elisabeth Habermehl is not the eldest John's mother, as she would only be 11 at the time of his birth. There is some confusion as to whether Conrad married twice or not. (June 2003 This confusion seems to finally be cleared) The Baptism of Kunigunda states that her mother's name is Elizabeth Kircher. Also the marriage certificate of Conrad & Anna Elizabeth supports that there were indeed two wives, both who were named Elizabeth. Johann's baptismal clearly proves that his mother is Anna Elisabeth KIRCHER. The only reason that I think that Johann lists his mother as Christinia Hafermehl is that Anna Elisabeth died when Johann was very young and Elisabeth (Christinia) was the only mother that he knew.7,6,8,2
Katharine was listed as the wife of Johann "John" Reinwald on 3 June 1885 Census in Village of Dewitt, Saline, Nebraska, included in the household is Henry William Reinwald, John Conrad Reinwald, Emillie Anne "Millie" Reinwald, George Henry Reinwald and Anna Margaret Reinwald; The census lists the surname of the household as REYNOLD.9 Katharine was listed as the wife of Johann "John" Reinwald on 1 June 1900 Census in Swanton, Saline, Nebraska, included in the household is Henry William Reinwald, George Henry Reinwald, Anna Margaret Reinwald, Anna Elizabeth Reinwald, Marie Catharine Reinwald, Edith Anna Reinwald and Ella Anna Catharina Miller; Ella's mother Emille died 24 April 1900. John Conrad Reinwald, at the time of the census, is living in Stoney Hill District of Saskatchewan.10 Katharine Reinwald and Johann "John" Reinwald immigrated to Rosthern, Saskatchewan, Canada, with her family Anna Elizabeth Reinwald, Edith Anna Reinwald, Marie Catharine Reinwald and Edward Henry Reinwald arriving 1903.11 Katharine was listed as the wife of Johann "John" Reinwald on 5 July 1906 Census in Sec 26, Twsp 43, Rge 5, 3W Meridian, Rosthern, Saskatchewan, Canada, included in the household is Anna Elizabeth Reinwald, Marie Catharine Reinwald, Edith Anna Reinwald and Edward Henry Reinwald.11
Katharine was listed as the wife of Johann "John" Reinwald on 1 June 1911 Census in Laird, Saskatchewan, Canada, included in the household is Marie Catharine Reinwald, Edith Anna Reinwald and Edward Henry Reinwald.12
Katharine "Katie" Lanz died on 26 February 1927 in Laird, Saskatchewan, at the age of 70.13,5,6,4 Katharine was buried on Tuesday, 1 March 1927 in the Stony Hill Cemetery, located in Laird, Saskatchewan , Canada.5,13,4

Conrad Lanz died on 29 January 1950 in Rosthern, Saskatchewan, at the age of 75.1 Taken from the Story of Rosthern:
Conrad Lanz was born in North-East Hope, Bruce County, Stratford, Ontario, on May 3, 1874, the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Lanz. When still a small boy, his parents, with their family, moved to Plymouth, Nebraska, U.S.A. Here Conrad received his education and spent his young manhood. It was here, too, that he was confirmed in the faith of his parents and continued to be a member of the Faith Lutheran Church until his last. He was faithful and generous in the support of his church.
In 1899 he came to Canada to settle in the Stoney Hill district near Laird, where he homesteaded. He was married to Rosa Prediger on April 7, 1904. Their marriage was blessed with nine children of which four predeceased him. His resourcefulness and perseverance as a farmer proved itself in time, as he built up a very fine farm which he still owned at the time of his death.
In the early fall of 1919, Mr. and Mrs. Lanz, as a relatively young couple, moved to Rosthern to retire. Mr. Lanz, however, kept busy looking after his farming interests until a few years before his death, when he developed diabetes. He died on January 29, 1950, at home in Rosthern.
He was survived by his widow, Rosa; three sons, Roy of Codette, Saskatchewan; Arthur of Nipawin, Saskatchewan; and Walter of the Pacific Coast; and two daughters, Mrs. Lilian Mitchell of Prince Albert, and Mrs. Edith Loeppky of Calgary, Alberta.4
