Descendants of Simon Bastesen Reigstad (1797-1888)
International Reunion in the USA July 18-26, 2009 save these dates.
Plans are now being made for a week-long tour of Reigstad sites in the USA.
The grand finale will be a banquet at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Willmar, Minnesota on July 25th.

Welcome to the Reigstad Family Website! This site is for and about descendants of Simon Bastesen Stokke Reigstad and his two wives, Brita Andersdatter Kyrkje-Bruvik and Magdeli Steffensdatter Hausberg from the Norwegian Island of Osterøy.
Here we will post any announcements we receive pertaining to future events. Any startling new discoveries regarding our heritage will be shared with you here also.

This is where our story begins. This is believed to be the house in Stokke where the patriarch Simon Bastesen was born. It has been modified and updated since that time. The 6 children of Simon and his first wife Brita Andersdatter were also born here. |
| Simon moved his family to this house on the Reigstad farm in 1835, although it was not in this location then. The children of Simon and his second wife, Magdeli Steffensdatter, were born here. This house is still beautifully maintained and offers a nice view of the fjord below. The current owners, Johannes and Rakel Reigstad are shown in the foreground. |  |
