A memorial of a quadripartite indented deed of release bearing the date the fifteenth day of February one thousand seven hundred and twenty-eight and made or mentioned to be made between
Edward CROKER the elder of Rawleighstown, John CROKER of Ballynegard only son and heir apparent of the said Edward the elder Edward CROKER the younger of Cahir Corney all in the county of Limerick Esqrs and Andrew CROKER gent second son of the said John CROKER of the first part,
Anthony ATKINSON of Camgort in the Kings County Esqr & John DILLON of Quartertown in the county of Cork Esqr of the second part,
Thomas STAUNTON of the city of dublin Esqr one of the masters of His Majesty's high court of Chancery in Ireland & Richard MAUNSELL of Newross in the county of Tipperary Esqr of the third part,
Walter TAYLOR of Raheen in the county of Galway and Elizabeth TAYLOR spinster only daughter of the said Walter TAYLOR of the fourth part,
which said deed of release witnesseth that the said Edward CROKER the elder, John CROKER & Edward CROKER the younger & Andrew CROKER in
consideration of a marriage to be had & solemnized between the said Andrew CROKER and Elizabeth TAYLOR & of one thousand pounds sterling
for the marriage portion of the said Elizabeth TAYLOR and of one thousand pounds sterling for the marriage portion of the said Elizabeth
TAYLOR by her father the said Walter TAYLOR paid and secured to be paid which said money was by the said deed of release agreed to be laid
out for the uses & purposes in the said deed of release mentioned and for the setling and assuring the houses messuages mills lands tenements
and herededisaments hereinafter mentioned to the uses intents & purposes hereinafter mentioned and for divers other considerations them the
said Edward CROKER the elder, John CROKER & Edward CROKER the younger & Andrew CROKER moving have granted bargained sold released and
confirmed unto the said Anthony ATKINSON and John DILLON all that and those
a front stone house slatted house sixty four foot to the street twenty seven backwards & three stories high nineteen rooms seven chimneys
a house backwards fifty four foot long twenty foot broad another house backwards fifty four foot twenty foot broad & yard backwards forty
six foot long and thirty broad returned to have been the reputed property of Thomas BUTLER now in the possession of said William HYNDES
a front slatted house to the street forty two, twenty three backwards three stories high ten rooms three chimneys yard forty foot long
eleven foot broad a shade backward twenty foot long fourteen foot broad in Kirwans Lane North side returned to have been the reputed
property of Doctor Nicholas LYNCH and now in the possession of Martin FRENCH fitz Robert
a stone slatted house in Kirwans Lane backwards North side seventy four foot long twenty three broad two stories and a half high fifteen
rooms and chimneys a yard now a tan yard ninety foot long and forty foot broad returned to have been the property of Thomas Reigh KIRWAN
and now in the possession of Alderman Marcus WALL
a front slatted house twenty five foot to the said Lane thirty nine backwards two stories high six rooms two chimneys in Kirwans Lane
South side a house sixty five foot to the Lane twenty seven backwards three stories high twelve rooms four chimneys a yard twenty four
foot long sixteen broad North a little slatted house sixteen foot long six foot broad returned to have been the reputed property of
Marcus KIRWAN and now in the possession of Erasmus IRWIN
a corner house in Martins Lane West side the reputed property of Sir Valentine BLAKE and now in the possession of Stephen FARMER
a wheat mill and mault mill under one roof in Martins Lane West side known by the name Martins Mills returned to have been the reputed
property of Sir Dominick BROWN and Martin LYNCH and late in the possession of Sir Marcus WALL
one front slated house a yard a shade the walls of a house backwards in Kirwans Lane south side reputed property of Denis KIRWAN
valued in the distribution at eighteen pounds per annum now in the possession of Robert SHAW Esq who has a right to thirteen in
thirty six of the said house and also all other the messuages houses tenements & herditaments of them the said Edward CROKER the
elder John CROKER and Edward CROKER the younger or any of them situate & lying & being in the county of the town of Galway with
the appurtenances thereunto belonging and
also the town and lands of Anhitt containing two hundred ninety five acres with the appurtenances situate lying and being in the
Barony of Coshma and County of Limerick with the appurtenances to hold the said houses messuages mills lands tenements &
herditaments with their appurtenances unto the said Anthony ATKINSON and John DILLON their heirs and assigns to the use of the
said Edward CROKER the elder and his heirs untill the marriage between the said Andrew CROKER and Elizabeth TAYLOR shall be
solemnized and after the solemnization thereof as for
and concerning the said messuages mills tenements and premises in the said town and county of the town of Galway to the use
of the said Andrew CROKER during his natural life
and as for
and concerning the said town and lands of Anhitt to the use of the said Edward CROKER the elder for and during the term of
his natural life & from & after his decease to the said use of the said John CROKER for and during the term of his natural
life & from & after his decease to the said use of the said Andrew CROKER for and during his natural life then for the use
and behoof of the said Anthony ATKINSON & John DILLON and their heirs to support the contingent Rem'rs in the said deed of
release mentioned and from & after the decease of the said Andrew CROKER to the use of the first & every other son of the
said Andrew CROKER on the body of the said Elizabeth TAYLOR and for default of such issue to the use of the first and every
other son of the said Andrew CROKER on the body of any other woman that shall be his wife after the decease of the said
Elizabeth TAYLOR and for default of such issue to the use of the said John CROKER his heirs and assigns for ever
Which said deed of release is witnessed by John CONNELL of Magherry in the county of Clare and William RYVES of Castle Jane
in the county of Limerick Esqrs: who are both subscribing witnesses thereunto and this memorial by the said William RYVES
and William BELL of Droum in the County of Tipperary Gent who are both subscribing witnesses thereto.
