WM STAPLETON 50 Acres Lee Co.,VA 1858 JOHN FLOYD,Esquire, Governor of the Commomwealth of Virginia, TO all to whom these presents shall come-Greeting: Know ye that in conformity with a survey made on the fourteenth day of May, 182 by virtue of land office Treasury warrant, no. _?.9119 There is granted by the said Commonwealth unto WILLIAM STAPLETON a certain tract or parcel of land containing, Fifty Acres situated in Lee county on Nasmans Ridge in the waters of the west prong of Blackwater and bounded as follows, viz; Beginning at three Lynns frome one __? on the North side of a ridge and running N 84(degrees)W crossing a branch just below a spring 74 poles to a hickory and black oak near the top of a ridge. S 60(degrees) W 28 poles to a hickory and hornbeam on the top of said ridge. S 12(degrees) W 78 poles to two dogwoods near a large sinkhole. S __? E 66 poles to a stake on the south side of a ridge; thence N 23(degrees)E 129 poles to the beginning. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtenances to the said WILLIAM STAPLETON and his heirs forever.
