STAPLETON RITES HELD TODAY IN ASHLAND

Mrs. Birdie Stapleton, 83, of Beaver, Route 2, Ohio, died
Sunday at the home of a son, Mason Stapleton, at Beaver.

Mrs. Stapleton was born April 18, 1875 in Johnson County, a
daughter of the late Daniel and Rebecca Stapleton Daniel. She
had lived in Jackson County, Ohio for 30 years where she was
a member of the United Baptist Church.

Funeral services were conducted today at 2 p.m. at the Oak
Spring Baptist Church by the Rev. Everett Sloan and the Rev.
Charles Lyons. Burial was in the Williams Cemetery.

The body was brought to the John Steen Funeral Home Tuesday
and was taken from there to the residence of a brother, Leo
Daniel, 513 39th St., at 3 p.m.

Surviving are one son, Mason Stapleton; one daughter, Miss
Mayme Stapleton of Ashland; four brothers, Leo and Mason
Daniel, both of Ashland, Arbie Daniel of Paintsville, and
H. R. Daniel of Youngstown, Ohio; seven granchildren, and
13 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Arbie Daniel, Ernest Daniel, William Daniel,
Marshall Daniel and W. H. Gambill.
