Mint Stapleton, age 90 died Saturday, Sept. 3,
1977 in the Paintsville Hospital. Mrs. Stapleton
was born March 17 1887, in Johnson Co., the daughter
of Dave and Mary Belle Bayes Cooper. She was a
resident of Hager Hill and a member of the United
Baptist Church.
Her husband Marion Stapleton, preceded her
in death in 1946.
Surviving are three sons, Tobe Stapleton of Hager Hill,
Bill Stapleton of Mt. Sterling, Charles Stapleton
of Dayton and Marion Stapleton Jr. of Wabash,
Ind; four daughters, Marie Rice and Grace Spears
of Hager Hill, Hattie Rice of Dayton and Bessie Spears
of Springfield; a brother Ollie Cooper of Paintsville;
21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tues., Sept 6, in the Jones-Preston
Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Clarence LeMaster
and Charlie Lemaster officiating.
Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
