Cort Daniel Sr.

1882-1974

Cort Daniel Sr., a retired farmer, died Sunday
December 15, at his River home after an extended
illness.

The son of the late Isom and Mary Preston Daniel,
he was born July 14, 1882 and was an ordained deacon
of the United Baptist Church for 40 years.

Surviving are his wife, Margie Preston Daniel;
one son, Cort Daniel Jr., of River; one daughter,
Joyce Young of Tutor Key; ten grandchildren; 17
great-grandchildren and two sisters, Martha Mann
of Paintsville and Jackie Cline of Inez.

Funeral services for Mr. Daniel were held Tuesday,
December 17, in the River United Baptist Church with

Reverends C. J. Sparks and Buel Ferguson officiating.
Burial was in the Daniel Cemetery at River with arrange-
ments under the direction of the Jones- Preston Funeral
Home.
