John Stapleton-age 82 years one month and
eight days, died at his home nine miles north-
east of Warrensburg,Missouri, May 5, 1922. He was
a native of Virginia but came to Missouri many
years ago. 1881.

Was well known in the Northern part of Johnson
County and the Southern part of Lafayette County,
Mo. Was a member of the Baptist Church. Funeral
services were held Friday at 2 o'clock and burial
was made at Oak Grove Cemetery, south of Higginsville
Mo.

Deceased is survived by his wife Elizabeth and the
following children. James Deane of Denver,Colorado,
Edward Stapleton,Lamar,Colo.,Sam Stapleton, Odessa,
Mo., Albert Stapleton, Higginsville,Mo.,Dock K.
Stapleton,Warrensburg,Mo.,Martha Wilson, Stonington,
Colo.,Mrs. Nancy Steen, Lexington,Mo.,Mrs. Missouri
Stapleton, Salem,Oregon. Preceding him in death was
son William Stapleton in 1919.(From the obituary of
