DAVID K. BROWN
Nippa Resident Dies December 16, 1958 David K. Brown, 70 resident of Nippa,
died at 3:30 a.m., December 16 1958 in a local hospital of a stroke
following an extended illness. The son of Elijah and Susan Stapleton Brown,
he was born December 25, 1888, at River George's Creek and had been living
at Nippa for the past six months. He was married in this city December 15,
1913 to the former Stella Barker Brown who survives. Other survivors include
four sons, Estill Brown and Escom Brown both of Lacarne, OH, Herbert Brown,
Springfield, OH, Hershell Brown, Wiley Branch, five daughters, Mrs. Lola
Leasurer, Springfield, OH; Mrs. Dorothy Music, Lowmansville, Mrs. Hazel
Ross, Johnstown, OH; Mrs. Ethel Chandler, Columbus, OH; Mrs. Louise Music,
Gallia, OH. 24 grandchildren. Also surviving are the following brothers and
sisters; Medar (Merida) Brown, Wiley Branch, Frank Brown, Springfield, OH; John
Brown, Ashland, KY; Mrs. Mary Murray, Wiley Branch. Mrs. Esta George,
Springfield, OH. Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday,
December 18 from the River United Baptist Church with Cullie Sparks and Bud
Wiley assisting. Burial in the Luther Daniel Cemetery on Wiley Branch.
Preston Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
