Edna Stapleton,
Edna Stapleton 77, died Feb. 24, 1983 in
Lexington Country Place Nursing Home.
She was born April 28, 1906, in Johnson
County, the daughter of David Sherman and Ella
C. Preston Picklesimer. A resident of Lexington,
she was a retired Oil Springs school teacher
and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
Her husband, Henry Beecher Stapleton, preceded her
in death in 1948.Surviving are a son,
Mack Stapleton, Lexington; two step-sons, Harold
Beecher Stapleton, Fairborn,Ohio and Ashley A.W.
Stapleton, Springfield; two daughters,Anamary
Wehte, Lexington and Ella Carole Meade, Fairborn;
and three step daughters, Emma Price, Oil Springs,
Christine Williams, Kenova WV and Irene Colvin,
Paintsville. Funeral services were held Feb 26, 1983
in Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was
in the family cemetery at Colvin Branch
