CRATE STAPLETON
Crate Stapleton, of Volga,Johnson Co.,Ky, died at a local hospital
January 18,1966 following a few days of illness. Crate was the son
of the late Edward and Sarah Burchett Stapleton. He was born
September 28, 1881 in Johnson Co.,Ky.
                                                                                                                                                                Besides being preceded in death by his parents, he is preceded
in death by his wife, Mary Angeline Sturgill Stapleton April 17,
1954.
                                                                                                                                                            He is suvived by one son,Dow Stapleton,Volga,Ky,Two grandsons,
John C. Stapleton and Francis "Bud" Stapleton of Flat Gap:two
granddaughters,Mary Lou Stapleton of Pikeville and Gaye Bailey
of Paintsville, and 11 great grandchildren.
                                                                                                                                                            Funeral services were held Thursday January 20, 1966 at 1:00p.m.
in the chapel of the Paintsville Funeral Home with Elders Lonza
Reed,Tommy Bailey,Rev. Charles Stapleton officiating along with
the Toms Creek Quartet. Burial was held in the family cemetery at
Volga,Ky.
