Jesse Stapleton, 79, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at Cabell Huntington
Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. Mr. Stapleton was born September 9,
1921, in Paintsville, to the late Ashland Stapleton and Virgie McKenzie.
He was also a veteran of World War II.

Surviving his death are his wife, Gertrude Stapleton; one son, Robert T.
Stapleton of Huntington, West Virginia; three daughters, Lorna Bowen of
Dallas, Texas; Karen Duncan and Sherry Hursman both of Huntington, West
Virginia; and two sisters, Leecie Stapleton and Julia Ann Maynard of Hager
Hill. Also surviving his death are six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren,
two step-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 30, 10 a.m. at the Stapleton
Cemetery, at Hager Hill. Burial will follow after the service.
