George A. Meek

1940-2003 Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 23, 1 p.m.
at Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel for George A. Meek, 63, who
passed away Sunday, July 20 at his residence.

Mr. Meek was born February 17, 1940 in Johnson County, Ky.,
son of the late Ted and Mae Castle Meek. He was a disabled
coal miner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Jean
Preston Meek.

Surviving are one son, David Wayne Meek of Meally, Ky.; two
brothers, Ted (Easter) Meek, Jr. of Tomahawk, Ky. and Ronald
(Connie) Meek of Boons Camp, Ky.; one sister, Clotine (Thomas)
Lackey of Boons Camp, Ky.; sister-in-law, Joyce Meek of Tomahawk,
Ky.; a host of nieces and nephews.

The service was officiated by David Meek and Isaac Rowland, with
burial following in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky.

Arrangements under the direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home of
Paintsville, Ky.
