The Last Will and Testament of Daniel Jayne V of Flat Gap,Kentucky Oct. 7, 1912 As transcribed by: William C. Reed Contributed by: Donella Stapleton The Last Will and Testement of Daniel Jaynes. Said Daniel Jaynes bestows, willa and bequeaths this to his daughter Sarah Jaynes provided he dies before she does, all his personal property, real estate and whatever may recur to him from pending law suits to be used for her benefit and support so long as she may live after paying burial and funeral expenses. Furthur that if the government pays for logs taken during the Civil War that so much of that fund as may be necessary for the purpose to place head or tombstones at the graves of each member of the family. After this is done if there is other funds from this source so much of it shall be used to pay the lawyer for collecting as is necessary for that purpose. Further,that if the land suit is gained so much of the fund acrueing from this source as is necessary to pay the expenses of this suit in fees and lawyer claims shall be used. Further, after these provisions are satisfied if there is yet other funds that D. J. Daniel, Henry Daniel, Isom Daniel, Sylvanis Sparks, Charles Hays, William H. Hills, G. V. Daniel, William Jaynes, Eliphas Ross, and Mander Fergusson shall be renumerated for their personal expenditures and services.
