The Last Will And Testament of Charles Stapleton In the name of our God. Amen. This 1st day of July 1799, I Charles Stapleton of the County of Montgomery in the State of Virginia being weak of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to the giver our God. Therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Sarah Stapleton the whole of my plantation where I now dwell with all its appurtances during her natural life and after her decease to George Stapleton during his natural life and after his decease to go to David Willis to him and his heirs forever. I further will and bequeath to my wife Sarah Stapleton all of my livestock houses called overfitting, one horse to George Stapleton together with all the house- hold furniture the Waggon farming wherewith also my outstanding debts to be collected by my executor hereafter named together with what money I have all which I leave to her bequeath her entire, ____?. I will that in case I shouldn't live to make sale of a legacy of land left me by my brother William Stapleton in the State of Pennsylvania that my Executor or either of them do make sale of said land whether by publick or private sale as they think proper and to make good sufficient title thereto and the money arising therefrom to be divided in manner following. I give first to my wife Sarah I leave one hundred and fifty pounds the balance to be equally forever hereafter all my children approved.
