Samuel CROTSER was the son of Henry and Margaret [Unk] KRATZER. He married first, Margareth [Unk], possibly in Berks County or Northampton County, Pennsylvania.  They had a son, Henry, who was born on 22 January 1830 in Fayette, Seneca County, New York. According to the 1830 census report, they had a female child who was born between 1830 and 1835.  Both of the children, Henry, and their unnamed female baby died young, and possibly in Seneca County, New York as the last census report showing either one of them is in 1830 .  From the 1865 census, it shows Samuel and his second wife, Charlotte, who is our direct ancestor.

Samuel CROTSER and his family moved from Buffalo, Erie County, New York to Groveland, Livingston County, New York about 1849, where they owned land and raised their family.  Samuel's occupation was that of a blacksmith.
