Was ordered out about November 1, 1776, for two months under Captai n Ralph in Col. Atwell's regiment of militia for the defence of Warwi ck, R. I., threatened by Britich vessels. In March, May, and Augus t 1777, he was drafted for tours of one month each, and stationed o n coast guard at Warwick Neck. During the last of these tours a comp any of British mariners was surprised and taken prisoner. In Aug 177 8, he was drafted for one month, joining the regiment of Col. Kimball , during Gen. Sullivan's campaign, and stationed in the vicinity of N ewport, R. I. In the summer of 1779, he engaged for a year in a comp any of artillery commanded by Lieutenant Medbury, and attached to th e militia regiment of Col. Kimball, and was stationed consequtively , at Newport, Fort Middleton on Rhode Island and at Providence. In O ctober, 1781, he was drafted under Captain Pierce for one month, an d stationed with Col. Olney's regiment at Newport. A brother, whos e name is not mentioned was also in Col. Kimballs regiment in 1779 . Returning from service he resided in Scituate. He recieved a far m from his father and supported his parents until their death. Thi s farm, however, he was obliged to sell to pay the other heirs thei r portions from their father. He then bought him a farm in Coventry , R. I. About 1815 he emigrated to Pennsylvania, residing principall y at Abington, Luzerne County, where he had a farm. There were larg e emigrations of Scituate Wights to this region. He was a member o f the Baptist Church - a reputable, honorable man.spouse: Dorr, Priscilla (1761 - 1818)
Aaron was a farmer in Milan, N. H., but enlisted in the army during t he war of 1861, and died at Chester, Pa., while a member of Co. I, 6t h New Hampshire Volunteers.spouse: Ordway, Eunice B (1822 - )
