The English ancestry of Henry Adams of Braintree is as yet undetermin ed. Henry Adams "who took his flight from the dragon of persecution in De vonshire", emigrated to America with at least eight sons and settle d in that part of Braintree which later became Quincy. Four of his s ons, Henry, Peter, Edward and Jonathan were among the proprietors o f Medfield.

Propietors Rec ords of Mendon state: "Benjamin Albee, a 20 acre lot and 50 acres o f land and 6 acres of meadow for the encouragement of a grist mill. " Mill burned by Indians in 1675/6 war. Chosen selectman at first M endon town meeting, June 7, 1667.
