BLACK MOUNTAIN - Stella Allison Rector Elliott, 81, of 212 Goldmont St., died Wednesday, May 29, 2002. A native of McDowell County, Mrs. Elliott resided in Buncombe County since the mid-1940s and was a homemaker. She was a daughter of the late Richard and Mae Moore Allison and wife of the late John Wesley Rector, who died in 1968, and the late Clyde Woodrow Elliott, who died in 1995. Surviving are her daughter, Margaret Rector Oates, of Black Mountain; stepson, Hobert L. Rector and wife, Louise, of Asheville; stepgranddaughter, Cathy Rector Queen, and stepgreat-grandson, Benjamin F. Queen, both of Candler; sister, Ann Almour and husband, Frank, of Delray Beach, Fla.; and sister in law, Mrs. Walter Allison, of Black Mountain. The graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Wendell Runion officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
