Miss Sarah Rector, age 75, died at her home in the Rector settlement near Marshall about 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 1932. Miss Rector had been ill about 2 months. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Emeline O’Dell of Greeneville, Tennessee, and Miss Rebecca Rector, of the homeplace.

Funeral services were from Rector Chapel at 4 o’clock Friday afternoon, June 24, conducted by Rev. J. A. Martin. Quite a number of people attended the funeral from Marshall and other places, as well as the surrounding community. Rev. Mr. Martin, as usual, made some very timely and touching remarks, he having been a friend of the family for many years. Favorite hymns were sung by a choir made up of different churches of Marshall.

The floral offerings were many and beautiful. Interment followed at the church cemetery.
