CLYDE - Jack Guy Rector, 75, of 48 Tranquility Heights, Hyder Mountain community, died Friday, March 22, 2002, at his home. A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Golah Gene and Ollie Maude Rathbone Rector. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Sidney, Willis and Willard Rector, and a sister, Elsie Rector Noland. He was retired from Dayco Inc. after 35 years employment. He was owner of Hyder Mountain Limosine Farm and a former Folkmoot USA volunteer. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth Price Rector; two daughters, Jackie and her husband, Gene Bolden, of Clyde and Martina Lawson of Hudson, Fla.; a son, Ned Rector and his wife, Martha, of Waynesville; six grandchildren, Dana Bolden, Michelle Quick, Tim Rector, Chris Elliott, Eric Bolden and Alisha Rector; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Billy Rector of the Iron Duff community of Waynesville and Rufus Rector of Milville, N.J. The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. Christopher Westmoreland of Clyde Central Methodist Church and Dana Bolden officiating. Burial will follow at Fincher's Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday prior to the services at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home.
