Know all men by these present that TIMOTHY READING, Jasper Billing, and William Reading are held and firmly bound unto Richard Blackburn, John Grant, Samuel Earle, and S???son Kenner. Gentlemen Justices of the County of Prince William in the full and just sum of three hundred pounds current money to the which payment well and truly to be made to the said Justices their heirs and successors we bind ourselves and every of us our and every of our heirs Exec. and Admin. Jointly and separately firmly by these presents in witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals the twenty fourth day of January one thousand seven hundred & forty two.

The condition of this obligation is such that if the above bound TIMOTHY READING administrator of all the goods, chattels, and credits of JOHN RECTOR deceased do make or cause to be made a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods, chattels, and credits of the said deceased which have or shall come to the hands possession or knowledge of him the said TIMOTHY READING or unto the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him and the same so made do exhibit or cause to be exhibited & into the County Court of Prince William at such time as he shall be thereto required by the said Court and the same goods, chattels, and credits and all other the goods, chattels, and credits of the said deceased at the time of his ? which at any time after shall come to the hands or possession of the said TIMOTHY READING or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him do well and truly as a administer according to Laws and further do make a just and true amount of his ???ings and doings therein when thereto required by the said Court: and all the rest and residue of the said goods, chattels, and credits which shall be found remaining upon the said administrators account the same being first ? and allowed by the Justices of the Court for the time being shall deliver and pay into such person or persons respectively as the said Justices by their order or judgement shall direct, pursuant to the Laws in that case made and provided and if it shall hereafter appear that any Last will and testament was made by the said deceased and the executor or executors therein named do exhibit the same in the said Court making request to have it allowed and approved accordingly if the said TIMOTHY READING being thereto required do render and deliver up his letters of administration approbation of such testament being first had and made in the said Court: then this obligation to be void and of none effect otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.

At a Court hold for the County of Prince William the twenty-fourth day of January 1742. TIMOTHY READING, JASPER BILLING, & WILLIAM READING acknowledged this bond to be their act and deed thus it was ordered to be registered.

An inventory of John’s estate was made by TIMOTHY READING. Some of this I was unable to make out and some was unreadable. It is signed TIMOTHY READING.

At a Court hold for the County of Prince William the 28th day of February 1742.TIMOTHY READING adm. Returned this inventory and $$ appraisement which was ordered to be recorded.
