This deed made the eighteenth day of May 1877, by C.G. RECTOR of Madison County, and State of North Carolina, to R.F. RECTOR, of Madison County, and State of North Carolina. Witnesseth that said C.G. RECTOR, in consideration of seventy five 0/100 dollars, to him paid by R.F. RECTOR, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, has bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey to said R.F. RECTOR and his heirs a tract of land in Madison County, State of North Carolina, adjoining the lands of C.G. RECTOR and R.F. RECTOR and others bounded as follows: Beginning on a small black oak on a line of the James Rector old hundred acre survey on the ridge above the old NAT. RIDDLE house and runs North East straight down the Piny Ridge near the said RIDDLE house to the French Broad River then down the river below the mouth of the branch that the said R.F. RECTOR lives on against the point of the first ridge below the mouth of said branch then strait up said ridge to the said R.F. RECTOR fence and with the fence to the line of the said JAMES RECTOR old hundred acre survey then with said line to the beginning containing thirty acres more of less. To have and to hold the aforesaid tract of land and all privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging, to the said R.F. RECTOR and his heirs and assigns, to his only use and behoof. And the said C.G. RECTOR covenants that he is seized of said premises in fee, and has right to convey the same in fee simple, that the same are free from all incumbances, and that he will warrant and defend the said title to the same, against the claims of all persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof, the said C.G. RECTOR has hereunto set his hand and seal, the day and year above written.

Be it remembered, That on the 25th day of May, 1878, before me, D.F. DAVIS, personally appeared C.G. RECTOR, the grantor named in the foregoing Deed, who acknowledged the due execution thereof, by him as his act and deed. Let the said deed, with this certificate be registered.
