STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA #1628

Know ye that we for and in consideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted paid into our Treasury by LEWIS RECTOR a tract of land containing fifty acres lying and being in the County of Buncombe on the waters of the Trail Branch of Sandy Mush beginning at a pine his old line and runs south eight poles to a red oak, thence east one hundred poles to a white oak, thence south eighty poles to a gum and east on the bank of the Branch, thence to the beginning. Entered 31st March 1806 as by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear. Together with all woods, ways, waters, mines, mierals, hereditaments and appurtenances to the said lands belonging or appertaining. To hold the said LEWIS RECTOR his heirs and assigns forever yielding and paying to as such sums of money yearly or otherwise as our general assembly from him to him may direct. Provided always that the said Grantee shall cause this grant to be registered in the register's office of our said County of Buncombe within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be void. In testimony whereof we have caused these our letters to be made patent and our Great Seal to be thereunto affixed. Witness NAT. ALEXANDER, Esquire our Governor, Captain, General, and Commander in Chief at Raleigh the 27th day of November in the thirty second year of our independence and in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & seven.
