This indenture made this _ day of January, 1904 by and between JAMES WESLEY RECTOR and wife IDA RECTOR of Madison County, NC parties of the first part and HIRAM C. RECTOR of Madison County, NC party of the second part. Witnesseth: that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of twenty five dollars to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have given, granted, bargained, sold, and conveyed and coaffirmed, and by these presents do give, grant, bargain, sell, convey and coaffirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever, a certain piece, parcel or lot of land situated, lying and being in Madison County, NC adjoining lands of J.E. RECTOR, E.F. RECTOR, P. RECTOR, H.C. RECTOR & others and bounded and more particularly described as follows: It being my one eighth undivided interest in my father's (FRANK RECTOR'S) entire estate. To have and to hold the above described land and premises with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, to the only use and behoof of him and his said heirs and assigns forever. And that said parties of the first part do hereby covenant to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns thereunto said parties of the first part are lawfully seized in fee simple of said land and premises and have full right and power to convey the same to the said party of the second part in fee simple and that said land and premises are free from any and all incumbances, and that they will and their heirs, executors, and administrators shall forever warrant and defend the said land and premises, with the appurtenances, unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. In witness whereof the said parties of the first part have hereuno set their hands and seals this the day and year first above written.

CANDLER, Justice of the Peace, do hereby certify that JAMES WESLEY RECTOR and wife IDA RECTOR personally appeared before me this day acknowledged the due execution by them of the foregoing deed; and the said IDA RECTOR being by me privately examined, seperate and apart from her said husband, touching her, voluntary execution of the same doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily without fear or compulsion of her husband or any other person and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto.
